Not because my english is so good or nonsense like "its easier to express some thoughts in english" - even after living in Ireland so many years my language skills are quite basic ....
Just like to include some people who enriched my life during te last 10 years of which I spent 6 in Ireland. Like Conor, with whom I shared some thoughts in recent E-Mails. We only met 5 or 6 times in total. To be more detailled: we spent spent some days on golf courses to cover the events during some Irish Open / AMEX Championships by shooting some hundred photos which we sold more or less successful to newspapers.
Last time we met was during the 2006 Ryder Cup Competition at the K-Club in county Kildare ( thats where the K in K-Club comes from ) close to Dublin, Ireland. One ofthe true highlights was to be able to meet this nice guy - a true ambassador for the friendliness of irish people. Now I found out he became quite succesful with his part time profession as sports photographer. He is busy shooting the Gaelic Soccer League for the biggest paper in Cunty Carlow and even received a silver medal for one of his photos. Good to hear.
Not even speaking about the great feeling to be able to follow the best players in the world. Wittnessing the talks and emotions of the European team at this competition which marks not just the greatest event in golf, the media coverage for is only second to the soccer world cup. Yes, there is millions of people watching hours of golf action for days in a row. Unbelievable in Golf 3rd World Countries like Germany and Switzerland but quite common for English spoken countries like Ireland, England , the US and many many more.
